The role of the Support Worker is that of an enabler, someone who is prepared to promote a service user and help them to maximise their independence, by enabling the Service User to do things for themselves and achieve their life goals.

At Allied you can make a real difference as a Support Worker, providing support to enable Service Users to dress, prepare meals, attend college, university or work placements; what ever their short, medium term or life goals.

Our support workers have a wide variety of settings to work in including (but not exhaustively):

  • Older people (Our Support Workers can provide assistance with light household duties, and support to social events / shopping etc)
  • People with physical disabilities
  • People with sensory loss, including dual sensory loss impairment
  • People with mental health problems
  • People with learning disabilities (Our Support Workers support both Children and Adults with Learning Disabilities)

With over 110 branch locations nationwide, as a Support Worker, you can work practically anywhere in the UK and with Allied we can find your work within a variety of settings including:

  • Learning Disability Units
  • Service Users' own homes (Our Support Workers can provide suport and care to both Children and Adults in their own homes.
  • Industry (i.e. placements with commercial companies)
  • Educational establishments
