History
Allied Healthcare has been providing health and social care services for over 37 years.
The company originally commenced trading as Notionvale in May 1972, in Staffordshire, UK as a one-branch home nursing service. 11 years later in August 1983 the company name was changed to Allied Medicare Nursing Services Limited and then to Allied Medicare Limited in December 1994.
In 1997 Allied Medicare Limited was acquired by a US company, Transworld Home Healthcare Inc, after which followed a rapid expansion through acquisition and new branch openings reaching over 100 branches by 2005.
This expansion programme improved Allied’s geographical reach, diversified its customer base and added breadth to the available service provision. In 2001 Allied Medicare was re-branded as Allied Healthcare Group both in the UK and USA.
Today we operate a community-based network of over 110 branch locations across the UK, as well as a strong presence in Ireland, following our acquisition of a majority shareholding in Homecare Independent Living Group.
In 2011, Allied Healthcare International was purchased by Saga Group Ltd.
